Community Work
The doctors and staff of Appalachian Animal Hospital donate their time and services to many organizations around North Georgia, some of these organizations are:
- Ellijay Wildlife Rehabilitation Sanctuary- www.wildliferehabsanctuary.org Appalachian Animal Hospital is a state licensed wildlife rehabilitation facility.
- Gorilla Haven- www.gorilla-haven.org We are privileged to be the staff veterinarians for Gorilla Haven, providing medical care for gorillas.
*Local Schools-We provide educational opportunities for local students form kindergarten through high school. We work extensively with Gilmer High School students involved in their Vet Tech and Agriculture classes.
- We train veterinary school interns from Auburn University.
- We provide services to the community by offering low cost vaccine clinics.
- Participate in The State of Georgia Sterilization Program offering discounts for Routine spays and neuters, we also participate in Spay Day USA

- Friends of Gilmer Animal Shelter (FOGAS)
